1976 – 2026.
Fifty years of good food, good wine, good company… and some tales that might be re-told....
Join us at Dockside Restaurant and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our Club in suitably grand style.
We are particularly honoured that the General Secretary and Historian of our parent Club, Dr Vin Thomas, is flying from Australia to join us and present our Club with a special anniversary award. Clearly, 50 years is worth crossing the Tasman for!
Adding to the nostalgia, two of our original members, John Feast and James Young, will take us briefly back to where it all began from 8 November 1976 as the 166th club to be chartered by the Beefsteak and Burgundy Club of Adelaide, South Australia.
On that date we were granted and ordained as the Beefsteak and Burgundy Club, Tinakori. Subsequently upgraded for digital domain, by presidential fiat, to be known as Tinakori Wellington New Zealand Beefsteak and Burgundy Club (TWNZBSB). We are looking forward to hearing how it all started - although, given the passage of time, some memories may have expanded even dimmed.
We are also delighted to welcome members from our brothers in wine and food from Beefsteak and Burgundy Club, Wellington. With that much experience of good food and wine in one room, things should get interesting!
And the best news? Dockside has plenty of room, so bring your partners, friends, neighbours, distant relatives — or anyone else who enjoys a long lunch and can enjoy a glass or two of wine.
So come along, raise a glass, share a few memories to help us celebrate 50 fantastic years of friendship, food, wine and questionable behaviour.
