Time to rub old elbows again
Breathe a quiet sigh of relief
with lungs held for daily reports  
Through science and government’s gurus.


Grants, subsidies and our super
Print it like there’s no tomorrow
Print it now, fore tomorrow comes; 
Next generations’ off to Mars
To mine what greenies don’t want here:  
Make America great again
Mull o'er Adern far away.


Take your pick or take out your teeth
after chewing the fat again
and picking the bones left for you:
Lucky you to be drawing breath. 


What of those cowered by rules laws
and constables who enforce them?
As we break the bread, sip the soup,  
enjoy the steak, and savour wine
think on this: who is your neighbour, 
how did we get into this mess?
